Rumours over the future of Manchester United star Paul Pogba don't look like going away any time soon. Could he be set to continue his career back-and-forth by re-signing for Juventus after re-signing for United?

The Daily Express reports that Juve will offer Jose Mourinho his pick of three of their star players -- centre-back Medhi Benatia, wing-back Alex Sandro and Croatia striker Mario Mandzukic -- as part of a deal to take Pogba back to Turin.

But Barcelona are also said to be interested and could come up with an offer of their own.

Tuttosport say that the Italian champions are working hard on deals for the midfielder and fellow Mino Raiola client Matthijs De Ligt of Ajax.

15.10 GMT: The Sun write that Patrick Roberts is set to cut short his loan spell at Girona and return to Manchester City.

They add that PSV Eindhoven could make a move for the winger in the January window after initially showing interest last summer.

14.50 GMT: After being linked with Arsenal and Crystal Palace, Roma director of football Monchi has said that striker Patrik Schick will not leave the club in January.

The Czech forward has failed to live up to expectations since arriving from Sampdoria in 2017, but Monchi told Sky Sport Italia that the club believe in him.

14.25 GMT: A 3-2 loss to Borussia Dortmund has left Bayern Munich seven points off the pace in the Bundesliga, but club president Uli Hoeness said that they will not bring in any players in the January window.

Vancouver Whitecaps' 18-year-old winger Alphonso Davies is set to join up with Bayern in January after signing in the summer, but apart from that, Hoeness said that manager Niko Kovac can rely on players such as Kingsley Coman and Corentin Tolisso returning to fitness instead of bringing in fresh faces.

13.55 GMT: Bournemouth will not entertain offers for striker Callum Wilson, manager Eddie Howe has told the Bournemouth Echo.

Wilson, who received his first England call-up this week, has been linked with a move to Chelsea, but Howe said that he will not leave the club in January.

12.10 GMT: Everton boss Marco Silva has told the Liverpool Echo that Barcelona were not interested in letting Andre Gomes leave on a permanent basis last summer.

Gomes moved to Goodison Park on loan on deadline day, and Silva said that Barca would not sell the midfielder, while Chelsea would also only let Kurt Zouma join Everton on loan.

10.43 GMT: Could Arsenal be set to offload Aaron Ramsey before he leaves the club on a free transfer next summer? Corriere dello Sport reports that the Gunners want to swap the Wales international for Roma striker Patrik Schick.

10.00 GMT: Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson is set to land a bumper new five-year contract worth £60,000-a-week, according to the Sunday Mirror.

Guardiola intervened to help Sterling stay at City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola played a crucial role in securing Raheem Sterling's new contract, the Mirror reports.

It says City had been reluctant to make England international Sterling one of their top earners on £300,000 a week until Guardiola stepped in.

City "were refusing to pay up" -- but that changed when he "urged them to make the deal happen because the 23-year-old was a player he could not afford to lose."

Although the club often leave negotiations to sporting director Txiki Begiristain, Sterling "committed himself until 2023 after the manager made a personal intervention."

The Mirror says Guardiola believes the former Liverpool attacker "has been the victim of unfair criticism since he quit Anfield in a £49 million deal three years ago."

United poised to boost Jones deal

Manchester United will extend defender Phil Jones's contract by a year, says the Sun, which adds that they do not want him to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer when it runs out.

Manager Jose Mourinho has been searching for a new central defender, but the Sun says Jones remains part of his plans despite recent injury setbacks.

North London rivals Arsenal and Spurs have both been reported to be monitoring the former Blackburn player, but United "will invoke his contract clause to give them time to consider their options next summer."

Meanwhile, United have "made a hurried check on Exequiel Palacios," with the River Plate midfielder reportedly close to joining Real Madrid.

The Sun says they "sent a top spy to watch the No.  10 against Argentinian rivals Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final."

Bournemouth eye replacements as Ake talk grows

Speculation about the future of Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake has increased in recent weeks, and now the Sun reports that the south coast side "are set to spark a £40 million scramble."

Reports last month suggested Netherlands international Ake had caught the attention of Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham.

Bournemouth would have to inform his former club Chelsea of any offers, because the Blues hold first refusal to re-sign him.

The Sun suggests that manager Eddie Howe is resigned to losing the centre-back and is "keen to line up a replacement in a hurry."

It says scouts are looking at potential targets throughout Europe but could make a move closer to home, with Brentford defender Chris Mepham -- a target in the summer -- still on their radar.

-- Burnley remain interested in bringing striker Jay Rodriguez back to Turf Moor from West Bromwich Albion, according to the Birmingham Mail.

Rodriguez would be likely to cost his old club around £18 million and has been in fine form this season with eight goals in 17 matches.

-- Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez believes Salomon Rondon showed why he was keen to sign him by striking twice to seal victory over Bournemouth, the Chronicle reports.

Benitez brought in Rondon on loan for the season from West Bromwich Albion, with Dwight Gayle moving to The Hawthorns on a temporary basis in exchange.
