Transfer Talk: Mexico's Hector Herrera in line to replace Aaron Ramsey at Arsenal

The transfer window for all of Europe's big five leagues is closed, but that doesn't stop Transfer Talk from rummaging around about who will be moving where come January.

Arsenal seek Ramsey replacement

Arsenal appear to be beginning the work to find a replacement for Aaron Ramsey, with the Welsh midfielder's contract set to expire next summer.

And Hector Herrera appears to be a contender, according to Football London, with the Mexican midfielder in a similar situation to Ramsey at Porto.

Herrera will be a free agent next summer, and the Gunners could take advantage and avoid paying a big fee to replace Ramsey, with Lucas Torreira likely to step into Unai Emery's starting line-up on a permanent basis in the coming weeks.

City given Ndombele price tag by Lyon

Pep Guardiola was given a close-up of Tanguy Ndombele when Lyon sauntered into the Etihad and handed Manchester City a shock 2-1 Champions League defeat last month.

The young French midfielder has shot to prominence over the past year, and the reigning Premier League champions have stepped up their interest after witnessing his excellence first-hand.

But Ndombele will not come cheap, as the Star believe City must break their transfer record and pay £70 million to prise the 21-year-old away from the Groupama Stadium -- topping the £60m paid to Leicester this summer for Riyad Mahrez.

City lost out to Chelsea for their midfield priority Jorginho last summer, and with Fernandinho now 33 years old, Guardiola is determined to upgrade the position in January.

Ajax prodigy Frenkie De Jong and Wolves star Ruben Neves have also been considered, but Ndombele is now seen as City's first choice.

Arsenal and Spurs battle for Ipswich starlet

The Mirror reports that Arsenal and Tottenham are set to battle it out for Ipswich talent Andre Dozzell.

After recovering from a serious injury, Dozzell is back on the radar of the north London rivals.

The 19-year-old has represented England from under-16 level all the way through to under-19 level.

And now Dozzell is playing again, Premier League clubs are expected to firm up interest in the midfielder.

Tap-ins

- Leicester will move for Nathaniel Clyne, according to the Mirror, with the right-back out of favour at Liverpool.

The 27-year-old has been displaced by Trent Alexander-Arnold in Jurgen Klopp's line-up, with Joe Gomez also preferred. Claude Puel could now offer him a fresh start at the King Power Stadium in January, according to the Mirror.

- Aston Villa are lining up Brendan Rodgers as their new manager after sacking Steve Bruce.

The Star reports that the Celtic boss is thought to be ready to quit the club in the belief that he has taken the Bhoys as far as they can go.

- Rangers outcast Lee Wallace is a target for Wigan, according to the Daily Record.

The 31-year-old has less than a year left on his contract, and the Latics could make a move, with talks able to take place officially from January.
