Transfer Rater: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Tottenham; Aaron Ramsey to Liverpool

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the Whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Aaron Ramsey to Liverpool

Arsenal's decision to abort contract talks with Ramsey was surprising, and could reportedly lead to him following former teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in making the switch from Arsenal to Liverpool. The Mirror says that Ramsey was a Liverpool transfer target in the summer and that, with the Welshman's contract expiring next year, Jurgen Klopp could be back to make another offer in January.

Kylian Mbappe to Manchester City

With Raheem Sterling's future at Manchester City still uncertain as recent contract talks on an extension reached a stalemate, the Premier League champions are weighing up their options. One of these is, according to The Sun, a world record £200m move for Mbappe. The possibility of Paris Saint-Germain being investigated for Financial Fair Play over the Neymar and Mbappe transfers is reported to give City an opportunity to make a move.

Francesco Vicari to Newcastle United

With Newcastle struggling in the Premier League, thoughts on Tyneside are already moving to how they can improve the squad in the January window. According to Sport Mediaset, SPAL's 24-year-old central defender Vicari is someone that Rafael Benitez is keeping an eye on. SPAL have had a good start to the season in Serie A, currently lying in 11th place.

Milan Skriniar to Barcelona

Newcastle aren't the only club looking at a Serie A centre-back in his early 20s. Barcelona are reportedly interested in Inter's Skriniar as a potential alternative to Matthijs de Ligt, if the young Dutchman doesn't join the club from Ajax, according to Mundo Deportivo. Inter have already rejected offers of €60m for Skriniar though, so it wouldn't be a cheap move.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Tottenham Hotspur

Milinkovic-Savic was seemingly wanted by half the clubs in Europe during the summer. It's clear that many are still on his tail, with Tottenham one of three Premier League sides to have a scout present when the Serbian scored in Lazio's 4-1 win over Genoa, according to The Mirror. However, Lazio's sporting director Igli Tare has suggested that an agreement is already in place to hand Milinkovic-Savic a new contract.
