Blackpool welcome 34-year-old mascot as part of his stag-do

There were more than a few quizzical eyebrows raised when the teams emerged from the tunnel ahead of Blackpool's recent League Two game against Bradford.

This was because accompanying diminutive midfielder Jay Spearing onto the Bloomfield Road pitch was a matchday mascot who positively towered above him.

As part of his stag-do, Kevin Stuart's mates arranged a little surprise for him, arranging for the 34-year-old to carry out mascot duties at the match -- all while wearing his smartest pair of shoes.

Stuart, who plays as a defender for Dufftown FC in the Scottish Junior Football Association, looked thoroughly uncomfortable as he lined up alongside the Tangerines before kick-off.

Writing on Instagram after the match, Spearing remarked that being accompanied onto the pitch by his 6-foot-2 escort was "a little different to what you expect."

However, Stuart was obviously a lucky charm of sorts, as Blackpool duly went on to register a thumping 5-0 victory.

At this rate, the club might just invite him back.
