Queen of the South goalkeeper Sam Henderson injured by rampaging cow

Queen of the South have found themselves in the midst of a potential goalkeeping injury crisis as they continue to prepare for Saturday's Scottish Championship clash with Dunfermline.

Queens were forced to include 19-year-old shot stopper Sam Henderson on the bench for last weekend's game against Morton while Jack Leighfield, also 19, deputised for first-choice Alan Martin, who suffered an injury in training a few days prior.

However, it looks like Henderson may now be ruled out of the Dunfermline match after succumbing to a bizarre injury of his own at the weekend.

Indeed, the club have confirmed that the teenage stopper has hurt his shoulder after being knocked over by a rampaging cow at his father's farm.

"Sam has missed training this week. It could have been worse as the cow ran at him for a second time but he managed to get out of the way," Queens assistant boss Dougie Anderson told the club's website.

"He has a sore shoulder so he is getting closely monitored and a lot of treatment as we do not want to go into the game without a goalkeeper on the bench."

Well, what do you know? We really have heard it all now!
