Newly appointed Wrexham manager punches assistant on first day

Newly appointed Wrexham manager Dean Keates has got off to a flying start to life at the National League club after injuring himself in training on his very first day. Somehow, Keates managed to sustain the injury during a bizarre sequence of events that came about during Tuesday's 2-2 draw against Barrow.

It all started when Keates accidentally punched assistant manager Andy Davies in the face while celebrating Wrexham's first goal of the night. His No. 2 then promptly returned the favour as the pair celebrated the second.

"I punched Andy in the face for our first goal and the second he dislocated my finger," Keates told BBC Sport. "We had to get the doctor to pop my finger back in."

Not that we claim to be experts, but it sounds like the dugouts at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground might just be a little too small.

Try to keep the wild flailing to a minimum next time, chaps.
