James Milner scores first Liverpool goal in win over Brisbane Roar

Liverpool picked up another win on their preseason tour as James Milner netted his first goal for the club in a 2-1 win over Brisbane Roar at the Suncorp stadium.

The A-League side took a shock lead as Dimitri Petratos drove a low shot into the net inside 20 minutes.

Brendan Rodgers' lineup saw chances for Danny Ings, James Milner and Divock Origi, but it was Adam Lallana who netted the equaliser when he curled a beautiful effort into the net just before the 30 minute mark.

Liverpool went into the break at 1-1 and soon made four changes as Kolo Toure, Joe Maguire, Ryan Kent and Jordon Ibe on for Mamadou Sakho, Joe Gomez, Origi and Lallana.

And the Reds took advantage as Jordan Henderson went close, before Milner picked up his first for the club since joining from Manchester City this summer when he broke into the box and netted on 75 minutes.

Liverpool beat the Thailand All-Stars XI 4-0 earlier this week and take on Adelaide United on Monday.

Stephan El Shaarawy scored his first goal for Monaco in a 3-1 win over PSV.

Ivan Cavaleiro had opened the scoring for Monaco with a first-penalty, while Jurgen Locadia equalised in the 84th minute.

But it only took one minute for Monaco's new signing from AC Milan to redirect a low Elderson Echiejile cross into the far corner to break the deadlock, and Anthony Martial added a third Monaco goal in stoppage time.

Borussia Dortmund fell to a 2-1 defeat to second-tier club Bochum.

Marco Terrazzino opened the scoring for the minnows after a Henrikh Mkhitaryan giveaway, and Tim Hoogland soon doubled the advantage. Jeremy Dudziak scored a consolation in the 80th minute for Dortmund, who could not find an equaliser.

Wolfsburg managed a 1-1 draw at Ajax, Kevin de Bruyne scoring an equaliser just one minute after Davy Klaassen had given the hosts the lead.

Norwich defeated League Two side Cambridge United 3-1 in a friendly that lasted 120 minutes over four quarters.

Cambridge took the lead through Barry Carry after 30 minutes, but Gary Hooper's penalty levelled the score before half-time.

Two minutes after the break, Ricky van Wolfswinkel put Norwich ahead, and Harry Toffolo added a third in the 95th minute.

Aston Villa played to a goalless draw against Sporting Braga. The Premier League side had the better chances but Mark Bunn was called upon to make a key save at the death to preserve the draw.

Premier League sides Manchester United, Sunderland, and West Brom played in North America later on Friday night.
