Australia vs. Jordan crunch World Cup qualifier to be played in Sydney

Football Federation Australia has decided Australia's vital World Cup qualifying match against Jordan in March will be played in Sydney.

The March 29 match may decide whether Australia or Jordan finishes atop the qualifying group in the first stage of qualifying for Russia, 2018.

FFA chief executive David Gallop said on Wednesday that the match will be played at Sydney's Allianz Stadium. He said: "with a game where everything is on the line, we thought [Sydney] was the appropriate place."

Jordan beat Australia 2-0 when the teams met in Jordan in October but Australia went to the top of its group with a 4-0 win over Bangladesh while Jordan suffered an unexpected 1-0 loss to Kyrgyzstan.
