La Liga side Alaves sack manager Gianni De Biasi after just two months

Alaves have sacked Italian manager Gianni De Biasi just over two months after appointing him and are searching for their third head coach of the season.

De Biasi, 61, replaced Luis Zubeldia in September after Alaves had lost their opening five games in La Liga and Saturday's home defeat to Eibar left them bottom of the table.

"The club have decided to terminate the contract of Gianni De Biasi after the last results obtained in La Liga. For the moment, Javier Cabello will be in charge of leading the squad,'' Alaves confirmed on their official website.

"We thank Gianni De Biasi for the work done in this period and we wish him the best of luck in his professional future.''

Former Torino and Albania national team coach De Biasi's first game in charge ended in a narrow home defeat to Real Madrid -- and despite guiding Alaves to two league wins -- Saturday's loss was their sixth in eight matches.
