The 48-year-old Georgian, who spent three years with Newcastle after signing from AEK in 1997, has signed a two-year deal to take over at Athens' Olympic Stadium, the Greek club have announced.
Ketsbaia also represented Wolves and Dundee during his time in Britain and is perhaps best remembered for kicking the advertising hoardings after scoring a late winner against Bolton in 1998.
