Alex Lozowski banned for two weeks, available for England's autumn Tests

Rugby

Alex Lozowski will be free to play in England's autumn international fixtures next month after he was only hit with a two-week ban by a European Rugby disciplinary panel.

The Saracens centre was charged with two separate acts of foul play following his side's 13-3 win over Glasgow in the Champions Cup on Sunday but has only been suspended for the first incident, which saw the 25-year-old cited for entering a ruck dangerously.

He was cleared of the second charge -- a dangerous tackle on Glasgow fullback Ruaridh Jackson -- which would have taken his suspension up to at least four weeks.

Lozowski will therefore be available for England's match against South Africa on Nov. 3, the first fixture of a busy month which also sees Eddie Jones' team face New Zealand, Japan and Australia.

While Lozowski is not a key figure in Jones' squad, his availability is at least some light relief for the England head coach, who has been hit by the injuries to Chris Robshaw, Billy Vunipola and Joe Launchbury this week.

Jones announces his squad for England's four November Tests on Oct. 18.
