Harlequins legend Nick Easter to join Sharks in Currie Cup coaching role

Rugby

Former England international Nick Easter is heading for South Africa after joining the Sharks coaching department for the upcoming Currie Cup season, according to reports.

The No. 8 left his role as defence coach at Harlequins in July after fourteen years at the Twickenham Stoop, including 281 appearances as a player.

Easter cited "personal reasons" for his decision to leave the club two years after he transitioned onto the coaching staff.

Easter, 39, earned 54 caps for his country and played in three World Cups before retiring in 2016.

He is expected to join up with the Sharks next week ahead of their Currie Cup opening game against the Bulls in Durban on Aug. 25.
