Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe will captain the Barbarians against England on Sunday as he brings the curtain down on an illustrious playing career.

Fernandez Lobbe, 36, will hang up his boots following the Twickenham match, ending a career that has included 71 Argentina caps, appearances at three Rugby World Cups and domestic and European titles with Toulon.

"It's a real honour to to lead the Barbarians," Fernandez Lobbe said in a statement.

"Since I was a kid I've been watching them play and to me they represent the purest values of rugby. Everyone comes together to play and the Barbarians is a good place to be.

"Playing England is a massive challenge as they're a top nation but we have the sort of players here who love that kind of challenge -- it's a beautiful one to have.

"It's my last game ever but I'm okay and at peace. I've been thinking about it for a long time and this last year I've enjoyed every minute."

The former Argentina captain will lead a side that features Chris Ashton at fullback, Semi Radradra at centre, Scotland fly-half Finn Russell and ex-All Black No. 8 Victor Vito.

Ashton, who has won 39 Test caps for England and scored a hat trick against the Barbarians in 2012, has spoken this week about his desire to make an impression on his return to Twickenham.
