Despite a possible European Rugby Champions Cup final meeting with Munster, Leinster and Ireland backrow Sean O'Brien won't be cheering for Munster in their semifinal clash with French Top 14 giants Racing 92 in two weeks.

Leinster defeated Saracens in the Aviva last Sunday, a day after Munster overcame Toulon in Thomond Park. That set up a semifinal meeting with the Scarlets, while fellow Irish province Munster will head to Bordeaux to take on Racing 92.

"I don't really mind who's in the final, to be honest with you, so it wouldn't bother me - once we are," O'Brien told the Times. "I have a good relationship with a lot of the Munster players, but I'm not going to be shouting or screaming for them, though.

"But I respect what they're about, and the club and the history and all of that. But as long as we get through what we have to get through, that's the most important thing for us."

O'Brien missed out on Ireland's Six Nations Grand Slam through injury and now is in a race against time to return to Leinster's crucial run in in Europe and PRO14. With a tour to Australia coming in the summer, he is pushing to make Joe Schmidt's squad.

"No, I need those games," he added. "I need that level now again to get used to it, to get my body battle-hardened again."
