Pieter-Steph du Toit has been passed fit to tour with the Stormers has they head Down Under for three matches in the coming weeks.

Springbok lock Du Toit missed the 28-20 victory over the Jaguares in the Cape Town-based side's season opener on Saturday after suffering from a back injury.

But he has been included in a 27-man touring party by head coach Robbie Fleck as they team tackle the Waratahs in Sydney, before crossing the Tasman Sea to face the Highlanders and champion Crusaders in New Zealand.

However, the side will not be travelling with hooker Bongi Mbonambi after he had emergency surgery to remove his appendix, with his place on tour taken by Dean Muir, who made his debut on Saturday.

Loose forward Sikhumbuzo Notshe and prop Caylib Oosthuizen, who did not feature at the weekend, will also travel.

"We enjoy touring as a group and feel that there were plenty of positives in our performance against the Jaguares that we can build on in the coming weeks," Fleck told the team's official website.

"The players have embraced the challenges that lie ahead of us and will be going all-out to raise our game further away from home."
