Argentina international Lucas Noguera Paz joins Bath Rugby

Rugby, Aviva Premiership

Bath Rugby have bolstered their squad ahead of Saturday's Champions Cup encounter with Toulon after the club announced the signing of prop Lucas Noguera Paz Wednesday.

Noguera Paz, 24, has accumulated over 40 caps for Argentina and featured for Los Pumas during November's autumn Tests against England, Italy and Ireland.

The front-rower will join Bath from Super Rugby club Jaguares and will link up with the Aviva Premiership outfit later this week, although it is not yet known whether he will be in contention to face the Top 14 giants.

"I can't wait to start this next stage of my career with Bath," Noguera Paz told Bath's website. "Bath are a very ambitious club, which will be exciting to be part of, and I know I will improve as a player here."

Bath's director of rugby Todd Blackadder was quick to welcome the club's new recruit, adding: "Lucas is a great addition to the squad. He's a very talented young prop, who has already gained a huge amount of experience on the international stage.

"His all-round skillset is impressive, and he is still relatively young so can get even better.

"He really fits into the squad we are putting together here, and I'm sure he'll continue developing into a fantastic player over the coming seasons."

Bath also confirmed that Australian hooker Nathan Charles will return to the club until the end of the season, while utility back James Wilson has extended his stay at the Recreation Ground until the summer of 2018.

It completes a busy couple of days for the west country side, who also confirmed earlier this week that promising trio Elliot Stooke, Tom Ellis and Josh Bayliss have all committed their futures to the club.

"We're obviously delighted that Josh, Tom and Elliott have agreed to stay at the club," Blackadder added in a statement released Tuesday. "All three of them are very talented young players who, importantly, have a fantastic attitude to taking us forward in the coming seasons.

"Building and evolving the squad is a real focus for us -- we want to have a really strong combination of talented youngsters and world-class experienced guys, and these re-signings are all evidence of that and fit into the club's ethos.

"We're looking forward to working with them all and helping them continue to develop over the coming seasons."
