England will tackle South Africa in Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and Cape Town next June as both sides step up their preparations for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
The schedule sees England play two games at altitude as they travel to South Africa for the first time since 2012. The series begins at Johannesburg's Emirates Airline Park on June 9 and then heads to Bloemfontein's Toyota Stadium a week later. The tour culminates with the third Test at Cape Town's Newlands on June 23.
England have lost just once under Eddie Jones since he took over in 2015 and he is targeting further history when he takes his side to South Africa next summer.
"A three-Test series against South Africa is going to be a big challenge but a fantastic opportunity for this team," Jones said. "England have only ever won three games in South Africa so we have a chance to create some history by winning the series."
The 2012 series saw South Africa claim a 2-0 victory while their last meeting in November 2016 saw Jones' side win 37-21. You have to go back 17 years for England's last victory on South African soil, when they won 27-22 in Bloemfontein, and SARU CEO Jurie Roux is looking forward to welcoming the tourists.
"Under Eddie Jones the English have re-established themselves as one of the powerhouses of world rugby -- they have only lost one Test in the last two seasons," Roux said. "Our history against England goes back more than a century and we are looking forward to welcoming them back to South Africa next year in what promises to be a tough tour.
"In 2012, they played in Johannesburg, but it's been 10 years since they last visited Bloemfontein, while the Test in Cape Town will be England's first visit to the Mother City since 1998."
