The Springboks haven't had the best of luck in France, having lost four of their last five matches against the home side. KweséESPN takes a trip down memory lane and looks at the last five meetings between the two teams in France.

2013: France 10 South Africa 19

This was South Africa's first win in France since they put 50 points past the home side in 1997. JP Pietersen opened the scoring for the Boks after charging down Morgan Parra's kick inside three minutes. Yoann Huget scored for France shortly before halftime, but the Boks held on in the end after a couple of penalties by Morné Steyn and Pat Lambie.

2009: France 20 South Africa 13

The Springboks didn't lose many matches in 2009, but this was one of their worst performances of a year that included a three wins over the All Blacks and a series win over the British & Irish Lions. France scrummed the Boks into submission, but only managed one try via Vincent Clerc after they squandered numerous opportunities to score.

2005: France 26 South Africa 20

France managed to survive a late scare to secure their third successive home win over the Boks. Dimitri Szarzewski and Frederic Michalak helped France into a 15-0 lead early on, while Aurelien Rougerie scored a sneaky blindside try. Bakkies Botha and Jaque Fourie managed to get on the scoreboard for the Boks, but their slow start ruined their chances of a win.

2002: France 30 South Africa 10

This would be a terrible start to one of the Boks' worst end-of-year tours. The visitors were looking at players to take to the World Cup, and had used plenty of personnel on tour. This defeat was followed up by a 21-6 shock loss to Scotland, before England hammered the South Africans 53-3 in their final match of the tour at Twickenham.

2001: France 20 South Africa 10

France dominated the Boks in the first half and took a 9-3 lead into the break on a cold night at the Stade de France. Pieter Rossouw scored for the Boks in the second half, but a try by Raphael Ibanes and a couple of penalties gave the French some breathing room during a pulsating last quarter of the match.
