Owen Farrell will return for the launch of Saracens' Champions Cup title defence as one of three possible reinforcements for Sunday's clash with Northampton.

Farrell was withdrawn from the bench shortly before Wasps were crushed at Allianz Park last weekend because of a calf problem, but the England flyhalf has made a full recovery and will pull the strings against Saints.

South African forwards Schalk Burger and Schalk Brits could also be back for the all-Aviva Premiership showdown at Franklin's Gardens.

Burger, the former Springboks back row, has been out since Sept. 16 because of a shoulder problem while all-action hooker Brits had his appendix removed late last month.

"Owen has trained for two days and is fine. Schalk Burger and Schalk Brits have a chance of being available on Saturday," director of rugby Mark McCall said.

"For Brits it will be soon after having his appendix out, so that would be a decent turn around. He trained today [Wednesday] and, if he has no reaction, he has a great chance of being involved."
