Wallabies hooker Stephen Moore will miss next week's Test against South Africa in Perth to remain at home in Brisbane for the birth of his third child.

Moore, who stepped down from the captaincy in July, will return for the September 16 clash with Argentina in Canberra.

NSW Waratahs hooker Tolu Latu will replace Moore in the squad after overcoming a neck injury that had ruled him out of the opening two Bledisloe Cup clashes.

The rest of the Wallabies' squad is unchanged for the Springboks clash on September 9 at nib Stadium.

Moore's absence spells good news for Western Force hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau, who appears set to start against the Boks.

The Wallabies sit third on the Rugby Championship table after just one bonus point in the opening two rounds.

South Africa top the standings after two convincing wins against Argentina.

The Wallabies were hammered 54-34 by New Zealand in their Rugby Championship opener.

But they put up an almighty fight in last week's re-match, with only a late All Blacks try consigning the Wallabies to a 35-29 defeat in Dunedin.
