Ospreys lock Rory Thornton in line for Wales debut vs. Samoa

Wales interim coach Robin McBryde has made seven changes to the starting side that beat Tonga for Friday's Test against Samoa at Apia Park.

Former Wales Under 20 captain Rory Thornton will make his debut, locking down with Seb Davies in the second row.

Scarlets scrum-half Aled Davies makes his first international start in the No. 9 shirt while Tyler Morgan is at outside centre and Cory Allen comes onto the right wing.

Hooker Ryan Elias and tighthead prop Dillon Lewis will also make their first starts as Ellis Jenkins is promoted from the bench to wear the No. 7 jersey.

The most capped player in the starting forward pack is Nicky Smith who will make his 14th appearance for Wales.

Wales: Anscombe, Allen, Morgan, Roberts (capt), Evans, Sam Davies, A Davies; Smith, Elias, Lewis, Seb Davies, Thornton, Shingler, Jenkins, Navidi.

Replacements: Baldwin, W Jones, R Jones, Beard, Young, T Williams, O Williams, S Williams.
