Chris Buescher signs multiyear extension with JTG Daugherty Racing

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Chris Buescher will remain at JTG Daugherty Racing for at least two more seasons as he signed a multiyear contract extension to continue driving the No. 37 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Cup Series.

JTG Daugherty expanded to a two-car team in 2017, adding a car for the 2015 Xfinity Series champion. Buescher is 25th in the standings -- one spot ahead of teammate AJ Allmendinger -- with three top-10s in 23 races.

"We built our team from the ground up this season, and I'm really thankful to be able to continue that in the 2018 season and beyond," Buescher said. "We have so many great partners onboard this season, and I'm really looking forward to building upon that."

Buescher is under a long-term contract with Roush Fenway Racing, which will continue to allow him to race for JTG Daugherty, co-owned by Tad and Jodi Geschickter and former NBA star Brad Daugherty.

The team leased a charter from Roush Fenway so Buescher would have a guaranteed starting spot this season. Charters can be leased out for only one season, so JTG Daugherty will need to obtain a charter from another organization for 2018.

"Chris has been a great addition to the JTG Daugherty Racing family," Tad Geschickter said. "We're extremely proud of what he has accomplished this year and we've learned a lot from him and the No. 37 team."
