Australian rugby star and former San Francisco 49ers RB Jarryd Hayne has been charged with sexual assault after allegations made by a woman in New South Wales. Hayne, 30, was charged with aggravated sexual assault and inflicting bodily harm after turning himself in to police Monday in Ryde, a suburb of Sydney. The woman, who says she suffered injuries in the alleged Sept. 30 incident, was interviewed by the National Rugby League's integrity unit before the matter was referred to police. Hayne has been granted strict conditional bail to appear in court Dec. 10. Hayne played eight games for the 49ers in 2015, trying to make the conversion from rugby to the NFL. He is currently a free agent in Australia's National Rugby League.
