Bears ink former Cardinals CB Marcus Cooper to 3-year deal

The Chicago Bears have signed former Arizona Cardinals cornerback Marcus Cooper to a three-year contract, the team announced Saturday.

Cooper, who turned 27 in Feburary, filled a need for the Cardinals last season after rookie Brandon Williams and Justin Bethel failed to pan out.

He had four interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, while starting a career-high 13 games.

He played the first three seasons of his career in Kansas City. He intercepted three passes in his rookie season (2013) for the Chiefs and appeared in all 16 games, starting six. He played in 22 games combined the next two seasons in Kansas City before signing with the Cardinals last year.
