Sydney Kings sign forward Deng Deng

The Sydney Kings have added to their roster for the 2018-19 NBL season with the signing of forward Deng Deng.

The 26-year old South-Sudanese born Australian arrives at the Kings following two seasons in the NBA G-League for the Texas Legends, as well as stints in Finland and Lebanon.

Deng previously played for Baylor University in 2015, while also representing Australia at the 2015 World University Games where he averaged 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.

Sydney Kings Assistant Coach Lanard Copeland says Deng has improved dramatically over the course of his fledgling professional career.

"From the early days, Deng was a player you could see worked hard on his game on a daily basis. He's one of the most athletic players you'll see in our league, but his overall game really started to take shape following his experiences in the NBA G-League and other international stints.

"Now it's time for Deng to be part of this very strong league right here at home. We know he has a really big upside", Copeland said.

He becomes the second player born in South Sudan to represent the Sydney Kings following the debut of Deng Acuoth during the 2017/2018 NBL season.
