Celtics forward Gordon Hayward got out of his walking boot today, less than two months since his injury on opening night. No guarantee he stays out of the boot, depending on how his foot reacts, but he's hopeful he's done with it. Said Hayward: "Today has been awesome without the boot."

Bulls' Mirotic gets 1st start with Markkanen out

With Lauri Markkanen out Monday against the Celtics with back spasms, the Bulls started Nikola Mirotic for the first time since he suffered a concussion and facial fracture in a fight with teammate Bobby Portis.

Celtics' Irving has quad contusion, out vs. Bulls

Celtics guard Kyrie Irving will miss Monday's game against the Bulls because of a left quadriceps contusion. The Celtics, playing the second night of a back-to-back on the road, also will be without forward Marcus Morris, who is battling knee soreness.
