Giannis Antetokounmpo to miss next 2 games with knee soreness

NBA, Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss the next two games as the team looks to manage soreness in his right knee.

The Bucks announced Saturday that Antetokounmpo, who already had been ruled out for Saturday's game against Philadelphia, also will miss Monday's game against Phoenix.

By missing Monday's home game, Antetokounmpo will have eight days off to rest and receive treatment. The Bucks plan for him to return to the lineup Friday against the Brooklyn Nets.

Antetokounmpo will be missing his third and fourth games this season with the same ailment, having sat out a Nov. 22 contest at Phoenix and a Dec. 23 matchup in Charlotte.

Named an Eastern Conference starter for next month's All-Star Game, Antetokounmpo is second in league scoring with 28.2 points per game to go along with 10.1 rebounds per tilt.

Bucks backup point guard Malcolm Brogdon is also slated to miss Saturday's game (personal reasons).
