Jazz shut down Rudy Gobert at least 4 weeks due to bone bruise

NBA, Utah Jazz, Miami Heat

Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has been shut down for at least four weeks due to a bone bruise suffered Friday, the team announced Sunday.

The Jazz said in a release that an MRI showed a right tibia contusion and that he will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

Gobert injured the knee in Friday's loss to Miami after colliding with Heat guard Dion Waiters going for a loose ball in the third quarter. Gobert limped off the court following the collision and called it a "dirty play" afterward, according to the Deseret News.

He sat out Saturday's win over the Brooklyn Nets.

Waiters didn't agree with Gobert that it was a dirty play.

"I've never been a dirty player in my life," Waiters told reporters Sunday before the Heat's game against the Pistons. "I went for the ball. Tell him to get out of his feelings. And that's what it is, just like that."
