The Shreveport Police Department in Louisiana have issued an arrest warrant for Donny Aaron, the husband of UFC flyweight Andrea Lee.
Shreveport PD spokesperson Cpl. Angie Willhite confirmed to ESPN an arrest warrant for Aaron is "forthcoming" -- perhaps as soon as Wednesday afternoon.
Shreveport Police issued a statement Monday that they have procured a warrant for Aaron. He is facing potential charges of false imprisonment and domestic battery, stemming from an alleged incident on Aug. 5.
According to the police report, officers responded to a domestic incident involving Andrea Aaron, who uses the name Andrea Lee in her professional career. Photographs were taken, detectives were notified and no contact with the suspect was made.
According to MyMMANews.com, professional fighter Andy Nguyen witnessed the incident and accused Aaron of "trying to burn a cigarette on [Lee's] arm and body" and "trying to choke her."
On Wednesday, Nguyen posted a photo of a female MMA fighter who was reportedly murdered by her boyfriend in 2011. Nguyen accompanied the photo with a caption that read, "Already lost [Maryellen Cano] to domestic violence. I wasn't gonna lose another friend."
Aaron, 43, was the source of controversy earlier this year, when an online photo of him showed a Nazi tattoo on his arm. Both Aaron and Lee apologized for the photo and claimed he got the tattoo while in prison, but Aaron stated he could not have it removed.
In 2009, Aaron was convicted of negligent homicide after shooting an unarmed man during an altercation near his home in 2005.
Lee (9-2) has one appearance in the UFC -- a three-round decision win against Veronica Macedo in May. The 29-year-old is considered a top prospect in the 125-pound division.
