Bellator is headed to Long Island, New York, for the first time, and it's bringing one of the most-anticipated fights in its history to the renovated Nassau Coliseum.

Fedor Emelianenko and Chael Sonnen will meet Oct. 13 in a semifinal bout of the promotion's Heavyweight Grand Prix, multiple sources have confirmed to ESPN.

Newsday first reported the news.

The Emelianenko-Sonnen matchup will occur a day after the first semifinal between Ryan Bader and Matt Mitrione takes place at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Sonnen (31-15-1) booked his ticket to the semis with a unanimous decision win over Quinton Jackson in January. Emelianenko (37-5, 1 NC) is coming off a first-round TKO of Frank Mir.

The Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix finals are slated to take place in early 2019.
