Rashad Evans fighting Anthony Smith at UFC 225

The UFC has added a light heavyweight bout between legend Rashad Evans and Anthony Smith to UFC 225 on June 9.

Officials confirmed the 205-pound matchup to ESPN on Monday. The UFC 225 event will take place at the United Center in Chicago.

A former light heavyweight champion, Evans (19-7-1) is looking to turn things around, as he's dropped four consecutive contests. His last two appearances were at middleweight, but the 38-year-old has opted to move back to his longtime home of 205 pounds.

Fighting out of Florida, Evans was in talks to face former middleweight champion Michael Bisping this weekend in London, but those discussions fell through.

Smith (28-13) is also moving up from middleweight. He's 4-2 since signing with the UFC, including a knockout win against Hector Lombard.

The Nebraska native suffered a TKO loss to Thiago Santos in his last bout, at a UFC Fight Night event in Belem, Brazil.
