MLB's next big thing: How wacky NL races are saving September

This has been one wacky baseball season.

Let's start by thinking back to the spring, or even the winter, and recall what seemed like a dominant theme in Major League Baseball, circa 2018: stratification. In other words, it seemed like the gap between baseball's haves and have-nots was as large as it has been in decades.

We were half right and, for that, we have the National League to thank.
