NBA draft departures shake up Way-Too-Early Top 25

The deadline for early entrants to declare for the NBA draft has passed, so it's time to re-evaluate the early top 25 for 2018-19. With so many players testing the waters yet not signing with an agent, it's more art than science.

Loyola-Chicago became the fourth 11-seed to secure a spot in the Final Four with its run to San Antonio. Few picked the Ramblers to reach this stage, but six minutes into the second half of their matchup against Michigan, they had a double-digit lead. And then the dream died after a memorable ride. The Ramblers gave us a famous nun (Sister Jean), buzzer-beaters, clutch shots, surprising wins and the best storyline of the entire NCAA tournament. They put on a performance we'll never forget.

Moe Wagner has been virtually unstoppable for Michigan, as Loyola-Chicago simply doesn't have any answers for his size or ability to shoot from inside and the perimeter. He's got a double-double and deserves MVP honors for his performance in this game.

Loyola-Chicago fans fired up watching first half (0:30)

When I watched Loyola-Chicago in Atlanta last week, I noticed how tired their opponents were in the second half. Chasing Clayton Custer, Marques Townes and Ben Richardson brings fatigue. They have so much energy. I see the same tired look with the Wolverines. Michigan needs a second wind to get back into this game.

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

Michigan is now feeling the wrath of Loyola-Chicago's terrific defense. The Wolverines are struggling from the perimeter, and have nothing going on offense beyond Moe Wagner. Anybody who has watched the Ramblers play defense this season shouldn't be surprised.

Myron Medcalf ESPN Staff Writer

Porter Moser's team hasn't done much with Moe Wagner. But he's neutralized the rest of this Michigan squad in the first half. Couldn't ask for a better defensive effort. Yeah, the NBA prospect played well. The rest were silent. Loyola-Chicago with a solid lead and the Ramblers haven't come close to their potential yet.

Looking back on taking No. 11 seed George Mason to the Final Four in 2006, Jim Larranaga said he underestimated just how much of an impact playing inside a mammoth football stadium would have on his team. Maybe that's a factor for Loyola-Chicago. The Ramblers have made just two field goals in the first 12 minutes of the Final Four against Michigan.

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

Loyola-Chicago center Cameron Krutwig talked this week about the challenges Michigan's much bigger inside players presented, saying they hadn't faced anyone as versatile as Moe Wagner all season. At least in the early going, Loyola-Chicago doesn't have many answers for the Wolverines' length.
