With the way the tourney is shaping up, the later rounds might be lacking in future high NBA draft picks. Deandre Ayton, Collin Sexton and Trae Young all saw their seasons -- and probably their college careers -- come to an end.

Missouri's Porter to 'take some time' on future

Potential NBA draft lottery pick Michael Porter Jr. said after Missouri was ousted from the NCAA tournament in a first-round loss to Florida State that he wouldn't rush to make a decision regarding next season.

Alex Scarborough ESPN Staff Writer

Missouri freshman Michael Porter Jr. took the loss to Florida State hard. It was difficult, he said, not being the kind of player he was accustomed to before surgery. But he's optimistic now that he's pain free for the first time in years.

Alex Scarborough ESPN Staff Writer

Michael Porter Jr. said he felt 65 percent his first game back when Missouri lost to Georgia in the first round of the SEC Tournament last week. I asked him if that's changed. He said he's maybe "5 percent" improved. Porter, a freshman with NBA draft lottery potential, missed all but the first 2 minutes of the regular season recovering from back surgery.

According to our Giant Killers model, the 7-10 seed most likely to win in the second round is Missouri, with a 25% shot to beat Xavier.
