Elijah Brown to graduate, transfer from New Mexico

Men's College Basketball, New Mexico Lobos

New Mexico guard Elijah Brown will graduate this spring and transfer to another school.

"We are grateful of the contributions that Elijah has made to our basketball program," head coach Craig Neal said in a statement. "He has matured and developed over the last three years, which led him to being one of the top Mountain West players the last two seasons. He is an incredibly talented player, who brought a lot of excitement to our fans and to The Pit.

"No doubt this is a tough decision for all involved but especially for Elijah, but we are a family and we will always support all of our players pursuing their goals. We congratulate Elijah on his upcoming graduation from UNM, which is an awesome accomplishment and wish him nothing but the best."

Brown, the son of Golden State Warriors assistant coach and former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Mike Brown, averaged 18.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists this past season. He scored at least 25 points eight times in the final eight weeks of the season. Brown also scored 21.7 per game in 2015-16.

The 6-foot-4 guard started his career at Butler before transferring after his freshman year.
