Oregon State sophomore forward Tres Tinkle suffered ligament damage to his broken right wrist, Beavers coach Wayne Tinkle told ESPN on Monday.
Tres Tinkle, who suffered the injury late in a 63-58 loss to Fresno State on Friday, had a CT scan on Monday which showed three small fractures and some ligament damage in his right wrist. He will be in a cast for 3-4 weeks and then re-evaluated.
Tres Tinkle was Oregon State's best player and had scored a career-high 31 points prior to injuring his right wrist when he fell on it while attempting to block a shot with about four minutes remaining in the game. Tinkle, who missed the final five games last season with a broken right foot, was averaging 20.2 points and 8.3 rebounds and is the coach's son.
Oregon State also has been without Stephen Thompson (stress reaction) for the past five games. Freshman Ben Kone is also recovering from ACL surgery, Malcolm Duvivier had personal issues and didn't return after summer school and Keondre Dew (suspension) has missed the past two games.
Oregon State was slated to be a potential NCAA tournament team, but the Beavers have lost four straight and are 2-4 overall entering Monday's game against Southern Oregon.
