Duke adds Australian forward Jack White to 2016 recruiting class

Duke added to its loaded recruiting class on Thursday night, with Australian forward Jack White committing to the Blue Devils.

White announced the decision on his Twitter account.

White, a 6-foot-7 forward, took an official visit to Duke last weekend and then received a scholarship offer from coach Mike Krzyzewski. Boise State was also heavily in the mix for White over the past few months.

White represented Australia in the FIBA U19 World Championship last summer, averaging 8.3 points and 3.9 rebounds. He should develop as his career in Durham progresses, especially with the number of potential early-entry prospects on this year's roster and this year's recruiting class.

White is the fifth member of Duke's No. 2-ranked recruiting class. He joins Harry Giles (No. 1 in the ESPN 100), Jayson Tatum (No. 2), Frank Jackson (No. 11) and Javin DeLaurier (No. 43). The Blue Devils are also pursuing five-star center Marques Bolden (No. 20), who has been the subject of a recruiting battle among Duke, Kentucky and others.
