Cal State Fullerton upsets UC Davis in Big West semis

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Jackson Rowe had 16 points and 11 rebounds and No. 4 seed Cal State Fullerton rallied to knock off top-seeded UC Davis 55-52 in the Big West Conference Tournament semifinals on Friday night.

Cal State Fullerton (19-11) advanced to Saturday's championship to face the winner of No. 2 seed UC Santa Barbara and No. 3 seed UC Irvine.

The Titans missed their final four shots from the field but Arkim Robertson made 3 of 4 free throws in the final five seconds to help them hold on.

The Aggies (22-10) led 40-27 after opening the second half with a 9-2 run and then Cal State Fullerton erased most of the deficit with a 12-3 run.

A.J. John's 3-pointer pushed the lead back to six at 49-43 and then Cal State Fullerton scored nine straight, taking the lead for good on Dwight Ramos' tip-in at 50-49.
