Fenner scores 46, Savannah St. beats Morgan St. in OT, 97-94

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Alante Fenner scored a career-high 46 points to lead Savannah State to a 97-94 overtime victory over Morgan State on Saturday.

Savannah State (12-13, 9-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) has won eight straight since its one-point loss to Morgan State (9-15, 5-6) on Jan. 8. The Tigers are now alone atop the conference standings with a one-game lead over North Carolina A&T (8-2), which lost to South Carolina State.

Kyson Rawls made a pair of free throws for Morgan State to open the extra period. Fenner answered with a 3-pointer and the Tigers closed on an 8-3 surge.

Fenner was 12-of-24 shooting, made six 3-pointers and 16 of 17 free throws. He also had a team-high seven rebounds, and made a free throw and forced a turnover in the final 11 seconds to send the game to overtime tied at 89.

Tiwian Kendley, who hit a field goal with 6.4 seconds left that beat the Tigers in the first matchup, scored 24 points to lead Morgan State.
