Savannah St. rolls in 2nd half, beats Delaware St. 106-88

DOVER, Del. -- Austin Dasent nailed seven from long range to total 21 points as Savannah State dominated the second half to thump Delaware State 106-86 on Saturday.

Dasent was 7 of 14 from beyond the arc. Dexter McClanahan made 7 of 14 field-goal attempts for 18 points and Zach Sellers added 16 for Savannah State (9-13, 6-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) for its fifth straight win. This was the third consecutive game for Savannah State, which drilled 20 of 52 from distance, to go above the century mark.

The Tigers, who held a slim 43-42 halftime advantage, exploded in the second period, outscoring Delaware State 63-44 to keep the Hornets (2-21, 0-8) winless in conference play.

Isaiah Felder, who finished with 13 points, led the breakout in the second half as he drilled consecutive 3-pointers as the Tigers took a 76-67 lead midway in the final period.

Simon Okolue had 18 points and Artem Tavakalyan added 16 for Delaware State.
