King has 25 points, 10 boards in Blue Raiders' 9th straight

RUSTON, La. -- Nick King scored 25 points with 10 rebounds and Middle Tennessee beat Louisiana Tech 87-70 on Saturday night to remain the lone team atop Conference USA and give coach Kermit Davis his 400th Division-I victory.

King made four 3-pointers in collecting his 10th double-double this season. Brandon Walters posted his second double-double with 11 points and 11 boards while Antwain Johnson made four 3-pointers and scored 18 points with Giddy Potts adding 14 points for the Blue Raiders (22-5, 14-1), who have won nine straight games and won for the first time in eight visits to Ruston.

Middle Tennessee shot 47 percent, even better from the arc (12 of 23, 52 percent) and missed just one out of 22 free throws. They won the boards 44-25.

Jacobi Boykins made six of the Bulldogs' 12 3-pointers and scored 22 points with Anthony Duruji and Amorie Archibald scoring 11 each.

The Bulldogs (16-12, 7-8) cut a 21-point second-half deficit to six with seven minutes remaining before the Blue Raiders responded with a 14-2 run that included two Johnson 3-pointers.
