Jackson scores 23, UT San Antonio downs Marshall 81-77

SAN ANTONIO -- Jhivvan Jackson scored 23 points, Nick Allen added 13 with nine rebounds, and UT San Antonio scored six unanswered points in the final 1:51 to beat Marshall 81-77 on Wednesday night.

Giovanni De Nicolao scored 10 points with nine rebounds for the Roadrunners (12-11, 5-5 Conference USA), who outrebounded the Thundering Herd 54-35 and shot 43 percent from the field on 35 of 81 field goals.

Marshall trailed 43-41 at halftime, but closed to 53-52 on Jarrod West's 3-pointer, tied it at 55 on Jon Elmore's 3, then led 77-75 after Elmore hit another 3 with 2:18 left. Keaton Wallace hit a go-ahead 3, Jackson added a layup and Wallace a free throw while the Thundering Herd missed five shots and turned it over twice in the final 1:51.

Elmore scored 23 points with 13 rebounds, Ajdin Penava added 18 points and C.J. Burks 16 for Marshall (14-8, 5-4).
