Clemons scores 23, Campbell beats Charleston Southern 62-47

BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Chris Clemons made three 3-pointers, hit all 10 of his free throws and scored 23 points as Campbell defeated Charleston Southern 62-47 on Thursday night.

Cory Gensler added 14 points and nine rebounds and Andrew Eudy had 11 rebounds to go with seven points with the Camels (10-9, 4-3 Big South) making 18 of 20 free throws while shooting 44 percent from the field, 13 percent better than the Buccaneers (6-12, 1-6).

Christian Keeling scored 12 points and Deontaye Buskey 11 for Charleston Southern, which lost its sixth straight game.

Clemons scored eight points in a 16-4 run to end the first half with Campbell leading 35-15 at the break, the Camels' largest halftime lead against a Division I opponent this season.

Fans were given free admission to the game after a Wednesday snowstorm dumped up to 10 inches of snow in central North Carolina.
