Small scores 27 and Green Bay beats Penguins 85-67

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Khalil Small scored 27 points with seven rebounds and Green Bay beat Youngstown State 85-67 on Saturday.

Small was just 2 of 8 from the arc but 8 of 13 otherwise and reached 20 points for the ninth time this season. He also had four assists and three steals. The senior guard was three points shy of his career high of 30 that came against Cleveland State on Jan. 6.

Kameron Hankerson added 12 points and David Jesperson and Sandy Cohen III 11 each for the Phoenix (10-15, 5-7 Horizon).

Small and Jesperson hit 3-pointers to start a 10-0 game-opening run and Green Bay led throughout. The Phoenix led by seven early in the second half when an 8-0 run with five points from Manny Patterson extended the lead to 15 and they remained ahead by double figures.

Cameron Morse scored 17 points for the Penguins (6-17, 4-6).
