Lafayette beats Colgate 93-83 behind Petrie's 23 points

EASTON, Pa. -- Alex Petrie scored 23 points with four 3-pointers, Matt Klinewski had 20 points and eight rebounds, and Lafayette beat Colgate 93-83 on Wednesday night.

Paulius Zalys scored 13 points and Eric Stafford and E.J. Stephens added 12 apiece for the Leopards (6-16, 4-7 Patriot League), who made 14 3-pointers and shot 52.5 percent from the floor.

It was the first time since March 5, 2015 that the Leopards had five players score in double figures against a Division I team.

Klinewski scored nine points amid an 11-2 run and the Leopards led 55-40 early in the second half, 65-55 on Petrie's jumper with 10:44 to go and 90-76 with 53 seconds left.

Petrie scored five points amid a 14-4 run and Lafayette led 42-38 at halftime behind his 14 points.

Will Rayman scored 20 points, Jordan Swopshire had 19, and Sean O'Brien 11 for the Raiders (12-10, 7-4), who saw their four-game winning streak end.
