Dartmouth downs Princeton 72-56

HANOVER, N.H. -- Taylor Johnson scored 21 points and Dartmouth picked up its first conference win, downing Princeton 72-56 on Saturday night, snapping a 10-game skid.

Johnson was 7 of 9 from the field including two 3-pointers for the Big Green (5-16, 1-7 Ivy league) Adrease Jackson added 16 points and Miles Wright led the team with 10 rebounds in addition to his seven points.

The team shot 47 percent from the field compared to 40 percent for Princeton and had a 43-23 rebounding edge.

Dartmouth trailed by one at the break but took off in the second half and Wright and Ian Sistare hit back-to-back 3-pointers to help push the Big Green into a 47-45 lead with 10:58 to play. Johnson drained a 3 to spark a 12-2 run late to stretch it to 62-52 with 2:21 left and they cruised to the win from there.

Devin Cannady scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Tigers (11-12, 3-5) who have lost four in a row.
