Martin scores 8 of 25 in OT; Towson beats Morgan State 82-78

TOWSON, Md. -- Zane Martin scored eight of his career-high 25 points in overtime to help Towson beat Morgan State 82-78 on Wednesday night.

Martin was 8 of 14 from the floor and made four 3-pointers. Mike Morsell added 17 points and Brian Starr had 10 for Towson (9-1), which has won nine straight since losing its opener, 57-54 to Old Dominion.

Phillip Carr had 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead Morgan State (4-5), which has lost three straight. LaPri McCray-Pace had 14 points and Martez Cameron chipped in 10.

Deshaun Morman and Martin made consecutive 3s to give the Tigers a 73-69 lead with 3:32 remaining in the extra period. The Bears pulled to 73-71, but Martin added five points and Morsell shot 4 of 4 from the line to seal it.

Martin made 3-pointer with 10 seconds left in regulation to tie it at 67, and Dennis Tunstall and Martin blocked layup attempts to force overtime.
