Charleston keeps CAA lead, beats James Madison in OT, 81-78

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Grant Riller drilled a game-winning 3-pointer with 2.2 seconds left in overtime to lift College of Charleston to an 81-78 Colonial Athletic Association victory Thursday night.

Charleston (21-6, 12-3) won its ninth straight to remain atop the CAA standings, a game ahead of Northeastern.

Jarrell Brantley converted two free throws with 1:28 left in regulation to tie the game at 69-69. JMU's Ramone Snowden missed a free throw for the lead with :21 left, Charleston's Joe Chealey missed from deep with a second left and the game went to overtime.

Riller scored eight of his 32 points in overtime and posted his fourth career 30-point performance. Brantley recorded his 19th career double-double with 20 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Cameron Johnson had his first career double-double with 10 points and 10 boards.

Matt Lewis had a career night, scoring 33 points for the fourth-best freshman performance in James Madison (8-19, 4-10) history. Darius Banks added 17 points.
