Montana avoids upset, beats Sacramento State 71-69 in OT

MISSOULA, Mont. -- Michael Oguine had 25 points, including a crucial putback dunk in overtime, and Montana avoided an upset on Saturday night with a 71-69 win over Sacramento State.

Oguine also made 2 of 4 free throws in the final six seconds to help the Grizzlies (20-5, 13-0 Big Sky) hold on for their 13th straight win.

The Hornets (6-19, 3-9) led for the final 15 minutes of regulation, but Montana closed the second half on a 5-0 run to force overtime.

Sacramento State missed its last two shot attempts of the second half and the first five attempts to start the overtime period.

Jamar Akoh added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Grizzlies and Ahmaad Rorie scored 10. Oguine finished 5 of 11 from 3-point range.

Justin Strings had 21 points, Joshua Patton scored 14 and Izayah Mauriohoohoo-Le'Afa added 11 for the Hornets.
