Harding, Braxton pace Weber St. past S. Utah 92-76

OGDEN, Utah -- Jerrick Harding tied a career-high with 31 points and Zach Braxton finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds and Weber State beat Southern Utah 92-76 on Saturday.

The 6-foot-1 Harding shot 60 percent from the field (12 of 20) while Braxton tied his career highs in points and rebounds.

After trailing 43-32 at halftime, Southern Utah used an 8-2 run capped by three free throws from Brandon Better and the Thunderbirds trailed 57-54 with 11:26 to go.

But Ricky Nelson and Harding responded with back-to-back 3s and Weber State (9-6, 2-1 Big Sky Conference) extended the lead back to nine. Nelson added a 3-point play with 8:30 to go and made it 70-58, and the Wildcats led by double digits the rest of the way.

Better led Southern Utah (6-9, 0-4) with 25 points and shot 13 of 15 from the free throw line, Jamal Aytes scored 18, Dwayne Morgan had 13 and Jadon Cohee had 12.
